Hey everybody and happy 4th of July! My name is Katie and I'll be guest blogging on Seven Dames A Week whenever one of the lovely ladies needs a break.

Like Maureen, I hail from the beautiful City of Roses, Portland, Oregon and have lived here for most of my life. I love most if not all things Pacific Northwest and try to engage in many crazy antics that I am stoked to share with you.

Unfortunately, I've been laid up with some crazy cold/flu business for the last several days. Who would have thought but apparently sickness causes immense amounts of writer's block, at least for me anyway. I had a topic all planned out but trying to make sense of it through my NyQuil induced haze proved impossible. So everyone who was hoping for a truly rockin' Indepence Day post, I apologize.

In the future, I will post about my Portland adventures, baking pursuits and whatever I feel the need to get on my soapbox about. I am also totally open for suggestions. If you need an truly amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe, do shout out. Help fixing a broken flower pot? I haven't been called the female MacGyver for nothing!
I'm excited to join this awesome blog and I promise I'll never get sick again! At least not in July, hopefully.
